A Day in the Life of the Beano Boss!

Being the Beano Editor isn't easy. From trying to keep Dennis and Gnasher from tearing the place apart to trying to stop Meebo and Zuky from tearing EACH OTHER apart, my day never stops. After lots of you asking me what my job was like, I thought I would keep a diary for a day!

9:00 Get to the office for the start of another busy day of Beano business.
9:02 Go get a coffee to make sure I'm alert and active.
9:03 Sit down at my desk, ready to work.
9:04 Rub bruised bu... um... bruised behind after landing on the floor. OW!
9:05 Realise someone has taken the screws out of my chair. Oh, those guys and their pranks!
9:06 Go off to find new chair.
9:14 At last, I can sit down and take sip of coffee.

9:15 Spit out coffee. BLEURGH!
9:16 Realise someone has replaced sugar with salt. Again. Hilarious... but disgusting. YECH!
9:17 Make new coffee. Yep, definitely sugar this time.
9:21 Finally begin work.
9:55 Tell off office minion for still giggling at my botty-bruising fall.
9:57 Feel bad. Go to find office minion a cookie to say sorry.
10:05 Apology (and cookie) delivered, go back to sit down.

10:06 Land on floor - OW! Must remember to put cushions down around my chair.
10:07 Check chair - yep, screws missing. Again. And I fell for it. Really fell! OOH!
10:08 Off to find a new chair. Again. 
10:33 Have a break. Look at a book about sharks. Sharks are the coolest! Their teeth are nearly as powerful as Gnasher's!

10:59 Meebo and Zuky come to visit.
11:03 Zuky has Meebo in a headlock.
11:07 Meebo has Zuky's head in one hand and body in the other.
11:09 Meebo leaves with new Zuky-scarf.
11:10 Call a cleaner to clean up the remaining Zuky on the floor.
11:30 Have an apple. CRUNCH!
12:12 Speak to office minions about still giggling over the chair prank.
13:00 Lunch
13:01 No lunch! EH???
13:02 Realise annoyed office minions have hidden lunch.
13:03 Leave to buy new lunch.

14:00 Return from lunch.
14:01 Discover old lunch was in my desk-drawer the whole time. WHOOPS!
14:02 Apologise to office minions for thinking they'd be childish enough to steal my lunch.
14:10 Sit down to read the day's mail.
14:11 Land on the floor. Again. OW! Again.
14:12 Realise the screws have been taken out of the chair. Again.
14:14 Go find ANOTHER new chair. Again.
14:15 Must make sure we get more chairs. Or less screwdrivers.
14:18 Return with new chair and finally start reading the mail.

14:35 Still reading mail. I get a lot of letters. None of them are about sharks. BOO! But lots about how great The Beano is. YAY!
15:37 Finish reading letters. Read quick chapter about sharks.
15:38 Go to make a cup of tea. Yep - it's still sugar. PHEW!
15:42 Come back with tea.
15:43 Check chair. Screws still in chair.
15:44 Forgot to check for whoopee cushions. RRRRRAAASP!!!

15:45 Throw whoopee cushion at office minions. WHEEE! PARP!
15:46 Think. About work, mostly. And a little bit about sharks. (Did I mention how cool they are?)
16:03 Thought long enough. Look at shark book again.
16:33 Office minion brings readers Tree-House pictures. Lots of great stuff. Our readers are really talented.
16:44 Pick Tree-House pictures for the week. A tough job, since they're all so good.
16:53 Mrs. Editor calls. Must bring home milk.
16:54 Mrs. Editor calls again to remind me that she said 'milk' and not 'books about sharks'. As if anybody can have too many shark books?!?
17:00 Leave work. Already can't wait for 9:00 tomorrow.
