The 7 Best Fictional Teachers Ever

Cool teachers might not exist in the real world - but there's no shortage of them in movies, TV shows and books. Here are some of our favourites!

Mrs Krabbapel

The long-suffering victim of Bart Simpson's pranks, Mrs Krabappel is sarcastic, irritable and has the loudest laugh in Springfield.

Miss Honey from Matilda

Ever had a teacher so awesome she adopted you? No?

Well that's Miss Honey from Roald Dahl's book Matilda (it was also made into a film)!

Mr Miyagi from The Karate Kid

He might not have a classroom, but Mr Miyagi is still a teacher. He's also the only one who can catch flies with chopsticks, and that's got to count for something

Minerva McGonagall

Transfiguration Professor Minerva McGonagall is strict, a bit grumpy and probably sets lots of homework. But if something evil attacked your class (quite likely when you study at Hogwarts) then she'd have your back - even if you've forgotten your pencil case for the third time in a week.

Indiana Jones

Definitely one of the coolest teachers about. As well teaching archaeology at University, Indie has found the Holy Grail, fought Nazis, survived a nuclear bomb, escaped a rolling boulder and traveled the world doing dangerous and exciting things.

Probably great fun at parents evening, too.

Albus Dumbledore

There's only one thing cooler than being a teacher at Hogwarts - and that's being Headteacher at Hogwarts! He's like Father Christmas, Gandalf and Stephen Fry all rolled into one... but with better hats.

Yoda

Being less than a meter tall, green, hairy, 900 years old and the Grand Master of the Jedi Order aren't usually things you associate with teachers - but Yoda certainly is one, having taught Luke Skywalker the ways of the Force.

Saving the Galaxy must make him popular in the staff room, too!
