news: GO ALL IN ON READING!

The rule is simple: if you're into it, read into it.

If your child is into jokes, imagination and causing a bit of creative mischief, then they’re already halfway there. Because the rule is simple: if you’re into it, read into it. And if you're into mischief, read more Beano.

At Beano we believe reading should be fun, playful and packed with laughs, not something you’re forced to do or ever boring.

For more than 85 years, Beano has stood up for kids, creativity and the joy of breaking pointless rules. Our comic strips and visual storytelling make reading feel exciting and accessible, helping kids build confidence as they unlock more jokes, stories and their own sense of humour as their reading skills grow.

That’s why 2026 is Beano’s Year of Mischief. A year-long celebration of imagination, curiosity and creative chaos, showing kids that reading can be powerful and playful at the same time.

Through comics, stories, challenges and mischief-making fun, Beano encourages kids to Go All In on what they love and discover that reading is part of the adventure.

Beano is proud to support the National Year of Reading 2026, a UK-wide initiative led by the National Literacy Trust and supported by the Department for Education.

As part of DC Thomson, a founding partner of the initiative, Beano is helping inspire more children and families across the UK to read for pleasure, starting with the things they already enjoy most.
