Hello there I've got lots to do, so I'll make this quick – a Whizz family joke, there – but here's all you need to know about our family.

I'm Malorie Whizz, and I’m married to George. We have two sons, Billy and Alfie.

You’ll know that Billy is the fastest boy in the world and Alfie looks like he’ll reach similar speeds when he gets older. 

When Billy was a toddler, he ran around so quickly that his nappy began to smoke. We couldn’t understand what was going on! As he was older, he’d go through so many pairs of trainers. We found out there were special trainers that had soles made out of Formula 1 tyres, so they last a lot longer, even though he’s quicker than any car that’s been on the tracks that Sir Lewis Hamilton has been on!

Billy’s speed is both a blessing and a curse. When it comes to doing chores around the house, Billy is very helpful as he does everything so quickly. But as he rushes to do everything as fast as he can, it means a lot of his chores are half-done, so I have to follow him around and finish the jobs off. That’s at my own pace, thanks. I’m not sprinting around the house as it’s dangerous! 

The Whizz family have a tortoise called Tillie. It’s nice having a pet that isn’t as fast as my children. That tortoise is so slow and it’s quite relaxing to watch them eat a lettuce leaf. It makes you realise that you don’t have to be fast to get things done. 

I've just sent Billy to the shops a minute ago, to get some things for dinner this evening. He'll be back any moment. In fact, I can hear his trainers screeching to a halt at the front door now! That was really quick!
