The Secret Darth Vader / Star-Lord Connection!
There was nearly a Star Wars / Guardians Of The Galaxy link that would have changed everything!
This is Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, from Guardians of the Galaxy!
He's a handsome, charming, swashbuckling space adventurer, who careers around the universe quipping his way through danger
And this is Darth Vader, aka Anakin Skywalker, from Star Wars!
He's an evil, heartless, murdering space rotter, who builds giant death machines and spreads fear throughout the galaxy
They're very different (other than the space thing) but they were nearly connected!
When Marvel were making the Guardians Of The Galaxy movie they had an idea involving Lord Vader
Remember Star-Lord's Walkman containing the tape of his Mum's favourite songs?
It was what led to the movie having such an awesome soundtrack
Instead of that, the thing he brought with him from Earth was going to be a Darth Vader figure
It makes sense – Darth Vader is pretty cool, even in action figure form!
That would have led to him teaching aliens, like Rocket and Groot, about Star Wars!
Layers upon layers! Madness!
They decided to go with a Walkman and music instead though, which was a great choice...
Because without it, we wouldn't have had DANCING BABY GROOT!
