Real Life Up! This Guy Floated 2500m in the Air Dangling From Helium Balloons!
Check out this amazingly planned adventure (that you should NOT try at home!)
Check out this man, dangling from balloons above the South African desert! Just like the movie Up!
His name's Tom Morgan, of the Bristol-based Institute of Adventure Research!
They arrange crazy races all over the world, and wanted to see whether a race based around dangling from helium balloons was possible!
Turns out it is! He floated over 2,500 metres in the air, for 2 hours!
"It was a fairly indescribable feeling, wafting across Africa on a cheap camping chair dangling from a load of balloons," says Tom. "Sort of peaceful and terrifying in equal measure!"
It looks like it wasn't a lot more complicated than the movie Up...
Just with fewer dogs and a higher probability of a horrible violent deathy fall to be devoured by lions and stuff when you land!
Other than the massive danger part of it, it looks really peaceful!
Tom and his pals hope to set up a large-scale helium balloon chair race in the next few years. Save us a place!
