1. Sleek Pony Tail
There’s nothing simpler than a pony tail! To get simple, sleek pony tail hair ready for all sorts of after school activities, all you need is a brush and a hair tie. Brush back your hair before you start so no wisps escape and ruin your sleek look. If you want your pony to have a bit of extra height, push in a hair grip from underneath the base.
2. French Braids
French braids are a little more complex, but its easy to get the hang of them and they’re worth the effort! Start by sectioning your hair into two even bunches and begin to plait it from the crown of the head, working in a few strands of hair more with each twist until you reach the nape of the neck. You might need some help with this one!
3. Space Buns
If you want to elevate your everyday school look without two much effort, the answer is space buns. Originally popular in the 90s, they’ve made a huge comeback for anyone looking to add a bit of quirkyness to their everyday style. Create a centre parting and gather your hair into two high bunches. Make two pony tails and then wrap the hair around the base to create a bun shape.
4. Low Pigtails
Pigtails might feel a bit babyish, but low pigtails are a simple, low maintenance way to add a bit of style to an everyday look. Bonus points for adding some loose strands at the front!

A messy bun is the perfect way to say; I’m ready, I’m serious, but I’m not too serious. Start with a normal bun and then gently tease out some loose strands of hair (not too many!) to create a perfectly cultivated messy bun. Use hairspray and kirby grips to make sure it stays in all day though!
8. Ballerina Bun
If you want to look really serious and ready for business, consider a ballerina bun! Use a large bobble (you can even use an old clean sock with the toe cut off!) to give your ponytail some volume, and then wrap your hair around it to give the illusion of a full, round bun.
9. Hair Scarf
If you want to try something a little bit different, why not incorporate a hair scarf into your look? Tie it like a headband, a turban, on the end of a pony, or use it to pile up your hair and keep it out of your face. Bonus points if its extra colourful!
10. Half-Up
This hairstyle is the ultimate mix of fun and studious. Pull the front section of your hair back off your face and secure either with a small hairtie or some hair clips. This allows you to concentrate whilst still keeping your hair down!
11. Head Band
Hairbands are back! There are so many styles to choose from, but why not go for a chunky velvet 90s look? And as an extra, it will help keep your head warm in the winter months!

14. Heatless Curls
If you’re looking for a way to curl your hair without damaging it, consider heatless curls. Use a silk or satin heatless curler in your hair overnight and gently brush out your hair in the morning, adding hairspray to set your curls in place. This one is a bit high maintenance -you might want to keep your hairbrush on you throughout the day!
