It's true! Emojis were actually invented by a man called Shigetaka Kurita way back in 1997   

2. People celebrate emojis once a year

World Emoji Day takes place on 17th July every year. It was created by Emojipedia founder Jeremy Burge in 2014.

3. 6 billion emojis are sent via social media every day!

That's loads, right? And the most popular emoji is? And it's not the poop emoji...Yep, you've guess it... it's the Tears of Joy emoji. In fact, it's so popular, you're probably using it right now!
